Mr. Davies holds degrees in both Civil and Mining Engineering and is a 30-year veteran of the tower industry. He authored the Electrical Grounding and Corrosion sections of the current Standard. Mr. Davies is an active member of the SBE and the TIA/EIA, the committee responsible for the composition of standards governing antenna and antenna-supporting tower design and fabrication. Certified by the Aerospace Industries Association and American Standard for Non-Destructive Testing, he has earned the title of Class III Ultra-Sound Instructor Trainer. Member of NACE - National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
Mr. Davies is making a positive impact on the industry's growing corrosion concerns through detection, prevention and viable solutions. He has authored several papers on this ever-growing concern and given numerous presentations on this topic and others.
Ernie Jones, PE, has been a participating member of the TR14.7 Committee of the Telecommunications" "Industry Association and Electronics Industry Association since 1986. This committee has the "responsibility to write and approve the ANSI/TIA/EIA-222 Standard which is the American National" "Standard for Steel Antenna Towers and Antenna Supporting Structures."
He was responsible for developing the ANSI/TIA-1019, 2004 Gin Pole Standard, titled “Structural Standards for Steel Gin Poles Used for the Installation of Antenna Towers and Antenna Supporting Structures”, and is currently a Co-Chairman of the technical section responsible for creating a full construction Standard entitled “Standard for Installation, Alteration and Maintenance of Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas” (ANSI/TIA-1019A)."
